FACT & Young Turks at XOYO

DJ's I Want To See, that I haven't seen yet.
  1. Jamie XX
  2. Oneman
Yeah I think that's about it.

What's that? They're DJing back to back at XOYO on April 8th.

If you haven't heard any Oneman Mixes, then rectify that now. His seamless mix of genres makes me feel warm inside:

BR #45 Oneman by BOILER ROOM

Burial + Four Tet + Thom Yorke (and it's not a mash-up)

Three of the most original and creative producers around today have combined forces to produce this two track EP.

James Blake is DJing. In London!

Admittedly this is my first post about the most talked about man on the internet, but I can assure you I have been a fan of his music since I first heard his CMYK EP last year. A lot has happened since then, including being nominated for BBC's sound of 2011 and of course the release of his debut album.

I was fortunate enough to see the man play live at Koko last month as part of the Gilles Peterson Awards Show. A really amazing night with performances from James Blake, Mount Kimbie and special guest Flying Lotus who sort of stole the show. As far as Blake's Album goes, I am a fan, I will admit that I think I prefer his earlier more "dubstep-y" releases like "CMYK" "air and lack thereof" and of course his famed hip-hop/RnB remixes under the Harmonimix moniker. Which is why I am desperate to see the man DJ(especially after hearing his Boiler Room Mix) This brings me neatly on to the purpose of this post:

James Blake is DJing again! More specifically at a new night Rank and File and you can find tickets here:
http://www.rankandfilelondon.co.uk/

The date is the 25th February and tickets are going fast (they had to move to a larger venue because of demand). If you've heard any of his mixes you'll be aware he has a definite soft spot for 90s RnB, dropping the likes of D'angelo and Destiny's Child, as an advocate of eclectic sets; I can't wait. In addition to Mr Blake there is support from Sampha (check out his last release on Young Turks - Valentine), Kion and Ancestery.

And if that wasn't enough part of the proceeds from the night are going to London based charity "Bounce" click for more info. If you are lucky enough to get hold of tickets I may well see you down there. And stay tuned for the next show, for the latest releases in underground dance music.
